Naming Guidelines
Below are some guidelines, which are useful when renaming or providing decoration descriptions for items within the catalog
- Use natural english
- Brick, Modified, 2 x 2, Clip ❌
- Brick 2 x 2 with Clip ✅
- Use a similar structure within the category
- Short Hair with Bow ✅
- Long Hair with Braid ✅
- Hair Long with Bow ❌
- Bow Hair Long ❌
- Leave spaces between stud sizes
- Brick 2x2 ❌
- Brick 2 x 2 ✅
- Use short names
- Torso Jacket, 3 Medium Azure Zippers Pattern / Bright Green Arms / Dark Turquoise Hands ❌
- Minifigure Torso with Jacket with Zippers ✅
- Use capitalisation on important words

- For undecorated items, do not name it after the figure/set it comes from. We have lots of names based on the minifigures they come from, these are usually default computer generated names.

- Minifigures should be named using the structure [Name/Purpose] with [Differentiator]
- The differentiator is decided by looking at other items in the category, and seeing what is different about the figures. So for example, their hair, the legs, the top.
- The differentiator should be the most obvious difference. Don't point out a difference in the colour of the eyes, if, for example, one person is wearing a scarf or a life jacket.
- The differentiator should be as short as possible. Instead of "Crash Helmet" use "Helmet". Instead of "Dark Stone Gray Breathing Hose for Yellow Air Tanks" use "Air Tanks".
