Arguably the second most important type of Lego part. Plates are very similar to Lego bricks except they are a third of the height of a Lego brick. As well as your standard Lego plates there are many other types of plate. Non-Standard plates have additional ways of attaching Lego pieces to them, allowing greater complexity in your Lego building. Round Plates allow you to incorporate some curviness into your Lego models. Brackets are handy for attaching parts at right angles. Technic plates have holes in them which allow you to pass an axle through them.
